headless

2020

This series explores the most elemental existential problems of the human being: death, love, adventure, wandering, fear, solitude, despair, and happiness. Through a headless figure, I portray a disoriented man who has lost his connection to himself. Caught in a paradox of abundance and technology, humanity has lost its identity and its direction. This existential void is central to the series' narrative. I work with traditional techniques such as linocut, reducing forms to black and white. I draw on the minimalist aesthetic of printmakers such as Matisse and Vallotton, among others.
