In an age when the body has been stripped of its symbolic dimension and reduced to visual merchandise, the nude has ceased to be a language of art and become an object of consumption. How can its original meaning be restored? This project sets out to reconfigure its place in the collective imagination, beyond spectacle and propaganda. My influences range from the flat colors of Matisse, the figurative pop of Wesselmann, and the geometric elegance of Lempicka, to the extreme stylization of Japanese manga.
