My visual work draws on the radical transformation of traditional trades, habits, and customs that, under the impact of the digital revolution, now face possible extinction. Through the image, I reflect on the speed with which technology reconfigures our relationships with our surroundings and with one another, generating a new social and cultural utopia as unexpected as it is irreversible. The images that make up this series pay homage to practices at risk of disappearing, while also posing an open question: What will remain? What will be displaced by innovation, and what will withstand the passage of time? This work seeks to capture that instant of transition where the old and the new coexist and converse. I wonder whether many of these habits will vanish forever, or persist because of their irreplaceable usefulness, their pleasurable quality, or their aesthetic value.
